Isabella Moore recently attended the biggest and most respected underground disco festival in Europe. Hosted by DJ Albion Venables (Ambassador's Reception/Frisbee Records), Camp Cosmic returned to Stockholm's archipelago for its third year.
Camp Cosmic is a friendship group-founded cosmic disco festival in the extravagant Swedish woods. There is only one place for breakfast: high up a mountain for the purest morning light, and one place for both lunch and dinner, where the most delicious haloumi and eggplant wraps are freshly made for the festival-goers delicate tastebuds. The 'main stage' ignites after midnight, where you will witness most of the attendees dancing amongst smiles and freaky disco dance styles.
Disco connoisseurs and fans alike united to dance to the most obscure and underground disco, Eurodisco, old school Italo-disco, space disco, nu-Italo/nu disco tunes spinned by the world's best disco DJs.
"Nobody can tell for how long Bondhälla has been used for ritual ceremonies and festivals. The forest clad hill facing open fields and leading down to a glade, in the outskirts of the woods is a culture protected area. During the first summer months it serves as pasture for cows."
Isabella's good friends, music preformers Gaffy Gaffiero and Ylva Falk, were invited to play at the festival. Isabelle herself DJs under the alias 'DJ Salacious Melon,' playing a mix of Peruvian folk, chicha and mountain music. She was able to fill a spot at the tropical, fruity bar which doubles as the breakfast bar by day.
The highlights of the festival, were the outdoor baths and the handmade 'Otto's Spa.' The festival lasted 3 days and 2 nights and on the last day, people are invited to stick around and clean up after themselves!
