Audio Indulgence with Summer Heart

This week’s Mr Wolf and Nordic by Nature feature artist is Summer Heart, aka David Alexander. Born in Sweden and now dwelling in Berlin, Summer Heart has been receiving some well-deserved attention of late; featured on H&M playlists, getting impressive shout-outs from the Guardian and generally generating a lot of online hype, bridging the abyss between Europe and the US. His easy going electro tunes has Wolf ready to turn up his new song, U Got All I'm looking 4, and dance away the European summer…… Summer Heart, summer heat, summer tunes, summer…. Good times!

What got you started?
I had everything laid out in front of me more or less. My parents are musicians, so when I grew up there were always instruments and stuff lying around all the time. I guess I had no choice but to start making music, I am very happy I did...

If you had the chance to do a duet with one artist, who would it be?
Sharin Foo from The Raveonettes! But I love collaborations and there are lots of other people I would love to collaborate with as well.

Who was the last interesting person you encountered in the past 24 hours?
I have only met one person in the last 24 hours. A very special one!

What are your three favourite tracks at the moment?
Sameblod - Norwegian Summer
Thieves Like Us - Your Heart Feels
Minks - Everything's Fine

If you could play at or attend any European festival, which one would be at the top of your list?
Well, it used to be Roskilde Festival, since that was the festival I used to visit most frequently when I was younger. But now I have already played it so I guess I have to come up with a new one... It would really love to play Primavera Sound in Barcelona. Can you hook me up?

Do you have any weird rituals before going on stage?
Well not really. Mostly I just listen to music that I am really into at the moment, and having a glass of wine. I like to be the last one in the band to enter the stage.

If you had the chance to send a message to musicians of the future, what would you say?
Have fun! And try not to compromise too much! And remember: it's not about getting famous or so, it's all about doing something you love. I know it sounds pretty obvious, but it isn't always.

What are you doing or where do you feel the most inspired/creative/radical?
I love being on tour, at least most of the time. You meet so many interesting and friendly people, and getting to see so many cool places along the way. I have both the highest and the lowest moments in life when touring, but still, it is the most inspiring thing to do for me!
